Elk is an ultra low latency OS (down to 1ms round-trip) that is officially supported in the VST3 SDK. Elk has additional support for JUCE and is available under a dual license (open-source & commercial).
Our Development Kit is the best way to join in and start exploring and prototyping with Elk Audio OS! It’s a fully packed Kit with comprehensive guides, documentation and examples to get you started.
The Dev Kit will allow you to run the 64-bit Elk Audio OS image. You will also find a Cross compilation SDK and a JUCE fork for straightforward porting of plugins to Elk. Included in the Kit is also a custom Elk Pi Hat for Raspberry Pi, and, there is already 400+ pre-built open-source plugins ready to run!
